Multiple sclerosis, Nick, Struggles

Mixed message

Good news! My MS treatment was working. (It doesn’t for all patients)

Bad news! I found out because I went off of it for a few weeks and am now having a flare-up.

Nah, I didn’t need my dominant hand for anything anyways. Or my right leg.

I did not want to feel this way so soon again.

For those who watch HIMYM, Marshall had a great line in last night’s episode. He called it a schoolyard bully of a year.

Sooo stealing that to describe my own craptastic last few months.

And hey, his storyline made a happy turn, so maybe ours will, too.

  1. When I heard Marshall say that, I also that “YES!!!! That’s exactly what this year has been!” Stupid 2011. Nevertheless, I’m hanging in there and determined to stand up to the bully. Or at least fake a stomach ache to get out of school for a few days. 🙂

  2. I love HIMYM.

Also, thank you for posting about your flare up. There’s a ton of talk about how the MS medications are “poison” or they “didn’t do anything”, but i’m also on Rebif and it’s working for me too. I can tell because I had flare ups about once every three months before (I just didn’t know what they were).

Nobody posts youtube videos about how CCSVI _didn’t_ work for them, although we’d all be better off if they did. And nobody posts blog post about how going of meds didn’t work for them, until now.

I think we can all learn from your experience, so thanks for sharing it.

    Hope you’re feeling better soon!

  3. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It is difficult to remember the importance of some medications when you can’t immediately see the results. I hope you are feeling better very soon!
