As I was reflecting on this past year and considering what my word for 2025 would be, several options appeared, like one of those word searches that claim to automagically reveal the first three words that will be your words for the year.
Retool, retry, revamp, remodel, rehash, regenerate, redo, refresh. There are myriad English verbs for when an “re” is added as a prefix, it is universally understood to mean “again.”
Whether affixes of the sort will fix anything this year, I am dubious but willing to have my world reset and my travel card punched for a new time zone.
Which is what will happen in short order. In case you haven’t heard, Nick is the new parks director in Mecklenburg County, N.C. Adventure, here we come!
