We are a consumer culture.

We live in a material world, and I am a material girl, especially when it comes as a sleek white shiny gadget. I make no apologies for my love of Apple products, which is deep-rooted.

I own nearly every iDevice there is. I design on a Mac, talk on one, listen to music on another.

It’s not so much about being hip. I find the products reliable, intuitive, revolutionary. OK, and maybe just a little cool.

So imagine my excitement to discover this while watching Top Gear. Not an Apple product, but no doubt influenced by the type of nonlinear thinking that developed the iPod.

The iReal. A mobility device that is a wheelchair on crack.

If we don’t ever get jet packs, I think I’d be quite fine with this. If house robots aren’t in the cards, this will suffice. If I ever need a wheelchair, I want it to be this.
